Francis & Me, Part 1

I’ve been meaning to post this all year, but I got too busy. Now I can’t wait any longer to share it with you.

Jay and Ryanne and GoGen and David and a whole lot of other people have inspired me recently with films of travels and faraway places. This is very different to the kind of quiet moments of beauty they observe & record – but watching theirs made me get off my arse and do something with mine.

I’m going to try to cut together more from this trip, maybe once a week – as part of my NaBloPoMo daily posting.

PS – Geek note – This wasn’t shot & cut on the N93, as the title card says, but shot on a tiny Canon Ixus/Powershot 900 pocket stills camera. Amazing. Gotta love those Canons for quality, low light & colour. (Cut on iMovie)

You sitting there for that long in the car building up the courage to drive…excellent! “right hand side…right hand side…” Hah!

Wow. Joy. And for sure a certain glamour. Classic video blogging. Can’t believe that’s been hiding away in the bottom drawer for so long. Beautiful. And what great quality from the Canon Ixus. Can’t wait to read the book. ; )

dude he can really play! – love that big open space there. love the car bit. you know what i like about your videos. i think it is the honesty and clarity of the things you engage in. i forget how interesting everyday things can be to others when they are shared out of context of timeframe.

Dear God, I just bought a copy of The Conversation, which I have never seen (save it), in the US AND this: http://urltea.com/1y15 . Giving this strict attention while listening to the Twilight Zone theme.

OMG, your lip-sync of that young, neat fellow in the video is awesome! And you even synced his “aaa” and “umm”! Amazing work. Loved every second of this… the music is great… I thought Marlon Brando would enter the scene as well :)

effing beautiful. SanFrancisco’s the city I feel most at home in in the States, maybe the world. I recognized that stupid Disney Store in Union Square right away, and smiled at your driving through 84 lanes of speeding traffic. I kept meaning to surf away, but–no. I couldn’t. really lovely.

wonderful. I would love to see more of this trip for navlopomo!

I’m glad you made it out of the 84 lane hell. At least it wasn’t LA … I’m pretty sure I caught you walking to the wrong side of the car at first too :-)

    well done.
