Riiiiight. Can you say split personality..."mooootheeeeeeerrrrr!!!"

Anyhow, this makes me miss proper english fish and chips. In Fullerton where I live we are fortunate to have a real English pub, owned and run by a Yorkshire couple. For a while the food was the best. There was a jordie chef in the kitchen and the fish and chips were excellent. But recently they got a new, non-brit chef and the food is all microwaved. Yuk!

As I read that, I'm sitting here with my friend from Hawaii who's railing about how fucking judgemental and unfriendly we are in Britain compared to Americans.
I'm almost-but-not-quite impervious to funny looks now, and I deal with any lingering worry by telling myself that if anyone challenges me, I'll smile creepily and tell them I'm doing it for a school project. And watch them back away. I think that, at heart, I've always wanted to be James Spader in sex lies and videotape, when he reveals his video collection to Andie Macdowell.

It's the price you pay to be an artist, especially when you get older and can't use the whole "I'm doing this for a school project" excuse. I wish people were more curious than suspicious.

Thanks. I'm actually going to take a gold star out of Amy's sticker book and put it on my laptop.
I liked it a lot, too. But I think the guy who owns the chippie and all the customers thought I was creepy.

Wow, LOVE the way the etched fish becomes animated through the glass - although ironic, because it "comes alive" most likely through the motions of someone chopping up one of its buddies inside.
